And the first procedure that must be subjected to it is soaking. To do this, the shoots are simply completely filled with cold water. It is unlikely that you will be able to quickly soak the salted fern, since this procedure takes at least about 6 hours. This is necessary to almost completely remove the preservative salt from it. If the product is not soaked enough, then in the taste of the common dish it will certainly be unpleasantly noticeable by excessive salinity.

Most often, soaking is carried out from 8 to 12 hours. But if it is possible to often change the water during the soaking procedure, then you can limit yourself to 6 hours. The water turns a dark green-brown color during the soaking process. The process can be considered complete if the freshly poured water practically does not change its color.

Advice! There is another simple method to check if it is ready: you can dip your finger in the soaking water and taste it. If a bitter taste is felt in the water, soak should be continued.

The only thing that can be done to really speed up the process is to place the salty product in a colander under running cold water. In this case, two hours can be enough for soaking.
